Smoooothies! (+ very easy recipe!) - Kids Recipe - DIY - Healthy Living - Dairy Free - Summer Drink


The past couple of days in Toronto have been scorchers! Yesterday my daughter (5) decided to make smoothies for the family to go along with the "Healthy Living" unit she's doing at school... and she did most of it by herself with this quick, easy recipe! :)

First, she washed and cut up strawberries, mango and watermelon. Of course, I did the major cutting, but she used a kiddie knife and chopped them up into pieces, and she felt so proud of herself.

She then loaded up the blender with the fruit, added some ice, orange juice and a dash of vanilla. I blended everything up, and within seconds, we had smoothies!

Throw in a fancy/colourful glass and an umbrella and you're in paradise!

Here are the measurements:

  • 2 cups of chopped fruit

  • 1 cup of ice

  • 1/2 cup of juice

  • dash of vanilla

Of course, there are many variations that you can experiment with, depending on your liking, and what you have in the house!

This is a perfect, HEALTHY summer drink that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Let's see pictures of YOUR smoothies! :)
